I know a few quick mods that are easy to install and make a world of difference.

Do you want better companions, a mod to make the best mega mods playable together, radios to play custom music or just want to basically improve the interface (it NEEDS it) and the performance. Better Bounties 1 and 2 are prime examples. So I'm pretty sure I can help you, but do you want gameplay changes on the first go, models and texture enhancements, more guns, more monsters, there are a few quests that even on the first playthrough would be a blast to play. I spent the whole day today looking for the best mods out there and made a mistake along the ways. I understand that FO3 and FNV are much better in this regardвЂ¦so any other suggestions for a newbie going for their first playthrough? I also played Oblivion with a ton of mods even though it was the first (and only) time I played it - because it was widely reported that Oblivion was broken out of the box, especially level scaling. Should I assume that you mostly level up too fast in the vanilla game (as you did in Oblivion) and so for a first playthrough, it probably warrants an XP reducer like JDR13 suggested? Sorry if this is a well trodden topic, but I've still got both F3 and FNV still to play.

Here's one level-scaling mod for FO3 () - haven't tried it in particular, though. Leveling is indeed a bit fast in FO3 as well, less so in FONV. Darn UI () for FO3 and MTUI () for New Vegas. The one mod you would unarguably need is a UI fix - being products of a Bethesda game engine, they both suffer from consolitus in that regard. Ghoul rampage is actually one of IWS's features )Д¬oaster: Vanilla FO3/FONV are mostly ok. There is nothing more terrifying than hearing a few dozen ghouls screaming for blood :) A World of Pain is also pretty unbalanced in terms of loot - I plan to install it but only after reaching the middle of the game or so. You can likely track down its components the aforementioned IWS is one of them, I believe. However, it's mostly a shell for other mods, anyway. I don't believe nVamp has been updated in a long while. I don't know if any of these sorts of remake mods will ever be finished (or evade the wrath of Bethesda's lawyers) but they're working on it and it looks shiny.Done some more searching and decided to go with nVamp from the list of the 15 best mods of 2011. The Fallout 4: New Vegas mod team have been working for several years to recreate the whole game, and after a few months of silence have started showing progress on their Facebook page again. That said, another team are attempting to do that with New Vegas. This is not another like Skyblivion or those other mods remaking old Elder Scrolls games inside newer ones. The mod is even explicitly set after F:NV and during the events of F4. This is very much New Vegas the city, not Fallout: New Vegas the game. Expect the New Vegas strip with playable casino games, about a quarter of the map, a few spots to build your own home, and creatures and weapons and things.

You can download the initial 'early access' version from Nexus Mods. Nice casino, shame if I had to murder everyone in here. They say they 'aim to faithfully recreate and remake the Mojave Wasteland true to the original and open to the public to play with, explore, mod and build.' So when it's done, it could be the foundation for interesting newness. The modders explain that they 'intend to open and recreate some of Fallout New Vegas's map as a new explorable location as a addition to Fallout 4', a hub world sandbox sorta thing. But to manage your expectations: it is not an attempt to recreate Obsidian Entertainment's game Fallout: New Vegas inside Fallout 4. A new mod named Project Mojave is attempting to recreate a lot of the post-apocalyptic Sin City and surrounding areas as a Fallout 4 mod, and you can play the first slice now. What happens in New Vegas stays in New Vegas, they say, though New Vegas itself will not stay in Fallout: New Vegas.
